Most Iconic Anime Poses Ever, Ranked

A good majority of the things which are synonymous with manga and anime are loved by almost everyone. An example of anime that has been constant since the early days is the knack of anime characters to take poses that appear over the top such that they are no longer realistic but at the same time are interesting to watch. These anime poses are no longer confined to the anime community — many people identify them even if they have never seen an anime, they might come across them as memes, or even as easter eggs hidden in other media.

It's surprising to see that some of anime's most ridiculous poses can be turned into the most memorable ones in the right scenario. A lot of the show's fans, who have been gone to such extremes as learning these anime poses and then bringing them into real life which often looks really silly in real life. Then again we are talking about cosplay veterans who have totally learned these famous anime poses and what amazing results they get for example they are able to even comfortably perform some of the more difficult poses a break of a limb if done by newbies.

Ritwik Mitra last updated this article on October 14, 2023: 99%. Manga is most of the time exaggerated, which actually makes it more interesting. It's the exaggerated nature of these shows that makes them such a blast to watch. Even the simplest things of mind are heightened with the title of a small man can in such a ridiculous way that they can become legendary on their own. Now, the most ridiculous but appreciative way to execute some insane visuals that we never saw in any other medium, is by showing poses that have turned iconic as well in several manga backdrops (sic) for some title and even your shows – it is not just the mad poses. These characters and the ways they express themselves are very very good two continue there paying respect the way they do by the ones who like them very much.

The Spirit Bomb (Dragon Ball)

One of the most famous series ever, Dragon Ball, now has been the source for some of the most indelible and iconic moments, which lay long in the memory and never get off even after a binge-watch. The patented Spirit Bomb attack is one of those powerful moves that people tend to remember with nostalgia up to these days.
Goku is shown using his most powerful attack while he is training with King Kai. However, he is seen using it during critical times when things are not going good. Most of the time, this move causes the expected roaring success... even its failure is a sight to behold.

Shadow Clone Jutsu (Naruto)

One of the jutsu used the most in Naruto is the Shadow Clone jutsu, with the Number One Knucklehead Ninja being a major user of this technique. Observing Naruto progressing from a jutsu, which he was so extremely dependent on and became the base, from where he had powered up his other techniques, is the thing that has heaved me to another level above the clouds.

In anime circles, it's a guaranteed fact that the "art" has not a long life but issues as to shadow clone jutsu hand sign would be virtually impossible to miss out on the classic hand signs in the first place. Indeed, it has become one of the most iconic hand signs in Naruto of all time.

If this list wasn't possessed to just one—an exception in a series—then it can be said that JoJo poses would cover the entire list. Araki's art has really a breathtaking quality that makes each and every one of the iconic JoJo poses come to life in the best way.
Special mention also goes out to a seemingly backbreaking pose which Josuke Higashikata does in Diamond is Unbreakable. It is a spectacular scene and it draws JoJo's Bizarre Adventure causing a statue to become iconic.

The Super Saiyan Power-up Pose (Dragon Ball)

Anyone claiming never to have given the super Saiyan mode a try at least once in their life, should be viewed with suspicion. Hell, participating in a hulk roaring marathon to get ahead seemed like the most downright cool thing to me as a kid!
This iconic posture has bought its viewership, in all key points across the entire world, over to Sideshow, and it is certainly easy to understand why. Seeing these Saiyans transforming into more potent beings to acquire higher power is not boring in my eyes!

1The Kamehameha Technique (Dragon Ball)

Nevertheless, in spite of that fact, we would be unable to have a discussion about iconic poses in anime without including a pose that we all, at one time or another, must have done. The Kamehameha is the most popular technique in Dragon Ball, with the pose that's cracked upon releasing the beam becoming the stuff of legends.
The Dragon Ball series has definitely changed and evolved quite a bit since its inception. But yet, the remains that the Kamehameha technique can still be regarded as its starting point with some modern updates along the way even while today provide a sign of this technique's winning formula.
