Mikey’s Disappearance Leads to a Shocking Discovery
Tokyo Revengers: War of the Three Titan Arc (Uncensored) Episode 03 opens with Takemichi looking for a straight answer about Mikey. Years later, he still wants to know what happened to the friend who once held Toman together. Mikey has been missing for years, and even the people closest to him have no reassuring answer.
The mystery becomes darker when Takemichi learns about Bonten, a powerful criminal organization operating on a scale far beyond the old Tokyo Manji Gang. Its activities include gambling, fraud, prostitution, and murder, while even the authorities struggle to understand the full reach of its influence.
The reveal that changes everything is the identity of its leader: Manjiro Sano, the same Mikey Takemichi remembers.
Bonten is more than another gang. It represents a future in which the person Takemichi trusted is tied to a ruthless criminal empire. Familiar faces among its senior members make that change even harder to accept. The distance between the old Toman and Bonten shows how much can change when years of pain and separation are left unresolved.
Takemichi Refuses to Accept That Mikey Is Gone

Naoto urges Takemichi to stay away from Mikey. From his perspective, the mission that started everything has already succeeded: Hina is alive, and the people Takemichi cares about have a chance at peaceful lives. Searching for Mikey could put that future at risk. Naoto also makes it clear that a decade can change a person beyond recognition.
Takemichi cannot reconcile Bonten’s leader with the Mikey who disbanded Toman so his friends could move forward. He is not trying to rebuild the gang; he wants to understand why Mikey disappeared and whether anyone can still reach him.
Takemichi has grown up, but his loyalty has not faded. While his friends build new lives, he remains concerned about the person who tried to protect everyone by carrying his problems alone.
His decision to pursue the truth is not an easy one. He knows that interfering with the present could have consequences, yet the thought of abandoning Mikey troubles him more than the risks involved.
Why Can’t Takemichi Time-Leap Again?
When Takemichi tries to travel back in time, the familiar handshake does not work. For the first time, he cannot rely on his ability to fix what is wrong. He wonders whether his time-leaping has ended because he already achieved his original goal by saving Hina.
Perhaps, now that the present is better, he no longer has the same trigger to send him into the past. It is only a possible explanation, not a confirmed answer, and that uncertainty adds another obstacle to his search.
Even if he could go back, Takemichi worries that changing the past might damage the peaceful future everyone has worked toward. He has to consider the consequences rather than treating time travel as a guaranteed solution.
For a story built around second chances, this is a turning point. Takemichi must act without knowing whether his power will return or whether his search will change anything. His determination to help Mikey is now being tested in a way that does not depend on supernatural abilities.
Chifuyu and Kazutora Help Him Keep Moving

Chifuyu believes Mikey chose his own path and that the others must respect it. They are adults now, with responsibilities and futures of their own, but that does not erase their shared history.
Takemichi understands the argument, yet he cannot bring himself to walk away. His connection with Mikey goes beyond their years in Toman, and he wants to understand what pushed his former friend toward such a dark future.
Kazutora understands why. Having experienced years of life cut off by prison, he knows how strange it can feel to return to a world that has moved on without you. He also believes Mikey has always struggled to ask for help, which makes him question whether Mikey truly wanted to disappear from everyone’s lives.
Instead of waiting for a time leap that may never happen, Takemichi decides to search in the present. He has no clear lead, but Kazutora is willing to help, reminding him that he does not have to face this alone.
Toman’s Time Capsule Brings the Past Back to Life
In June 2018, the former Toman members reunite to open a time capsule they buried as children. Mikey never arrives, so the others begin without him.
The objects reveal childhood dreams and private memories. Mitsuya’s handmade stuffed animal reminds him of his family’s financial struggles and how making toys for his sisters led him toward sewing and fashion. Others laugh at their old ambitions, but each item shows how their lives have grown beyond Toman.
The scene offers a glimpse of the people they became after leaving their delinquent days behind. Their experiences have shaped their careers, relationships, and personal goals, proving that there was a future for them outside the gang.
Draken’s note is more painful. He admits that Toman meant everything to him and regrets not speaking honestly about his feelings when it disbanded. He also recognizes how deeply Mikey was suffering.
The reunion becomes a chance to face what they lost and how much they have changed. Although Mikey is missing, his influence is still present in the memories they share.
Mikey’s Letter Explains Why He Let Toman Go
Mikey’s letter is the emotional centre of the episode. He imagined his friends’ futures and hoped they would find happiness. Disbanding Toman was not just for Takemichi and Hina; he wanted everyone to discover what waited beyond the gang.
Mikey understood that growing up would require his friends to leave familiar surroundings and pursue lives of their own. Staying together forever was not necessarily the answer, even if separating meant they might never meet again.
His message also suggests that distance does not erase friendship. The former members may follow different paths, but their experiences together remain part of who they are.
The letter does not reveal Mikey’s location or solve the Bonten mystery. It does remind the former members that their years together mattered, even if their lives now move in different directions.
For Takemichi, however, the letter is not the end of the search. Knowing that Mikey once wanted his friends to be happy does not explain why he became the leader of Bonten. The question of what happened to Mikey remains open.
Episode 03 Review: A Story About Loyalty and Growing Up

Rather than centring on a long fight, the episode uses unanswered questions and memories to build tension. Bonten shows the danger in Mikey’s future, while the time capsule offers a quieter look at what his friends hoped to become.
Takemichi’s decision to keep searching is the turning point. Without the certainty of time travel, he must rely on loyalty and the belief that Mikey deserves to be understood, not abandoned.
The contrast between Bonten and the time capsule makes the episode particularly effective. One reveals how far Mikey has fallen from the person his friends remember, while the other reminds viewers of the hopes and promises that once connected Toman.
The episode also includes a short Fairy Tale Revengers segment after the main story, providing a lighter change of pace after its emotional conclusion.
Ultimately, this episode connects childhood memories with the consequences of adult choices. It leaves the mystery unresolved, but its message is clear: growing up does not mean forgetting the people who shaped you. Sometimes moving forward means facing unfinished business.
